Hi, I’m Shane Mooney—the hands, heart, and mind behind Mooney Woodworks. I’m a woodworker, artist, and nature lover based in Michigan. Everything I create—whether it’s a custom box, a hand-carved block print, or canoe paddle—starts with a deep respect for natural materials and a love of the process.

Mooney Woodworks grew out of a desire to slow down, make things that last, and share beauty that feels honest and grounded. I believe in letting the materials lead, embracing imperfections, and following inspiration where it wants to go.

Many of my designs are influenced by the natural world—trees, rivers, moon phases, trout—and by a lifelong curiosity about how things work and why they matter. I often combine traditional techniques with playful experimentation, blending form and function into something that feels both familiar and one-of-a-kind.
